Flint Hill firemen will open their annual fund raising carnival next Wednesday, August 2, and it will continue through Saturday night? August 5, at the carnival grounds next to the fire hall.
Wednesday is a special night for children of all ages who will be allowed to ride any and all rides as many times as they wish for just one low price for the evening.
Thursday night's grand parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will feature the newly crowned Miss Virginia, Danice Barker of Galax. This is one of her first appearances since she was named Miss Virginia. Parade entries number more than 125 units and include bands from three states, majorette groups, fire and rescue units. Shrine and American Legion units, floats and beauty queens.
