D. French Slaughter of Culpeper, former Delegate to the Virginia General Assembly, will join Sixth District Republican Representative M. Caldwell Butler in heading Richard D. Obenshain’s campaign for U.S. Senate.
Slaughter, a former Democrat turned Independent, said he made his decision to support Obenshain because the Republican candidate has "demonstrated a sincere dedication to those principles which unite the broad majority of moderate to conservative Virginians."
