Rural counties faced with development pressures are seeing increased interest in farm land preservation programs as 1980 creeps closer—the year when all Virginia localities will go to 100 per cent fair market value assessment for real estate taxes.
At last Friday's seminar in Culpeper on Agricultural and Forestal Districts, about 150 farmers, local government representatives and interested citizens listened to authorities explain the workings of one tool designed to protect farm land.
