The Virginia Horse Council has announced that a new publication, the 1979 Virginia Horse Industry, is now available.
The 192-page book provides a “complete guide to Virginia’s horse industry” and includes an all-breed stallion directory and a list of where to find various horse related items. A directory of all national breed registries and equine organizations is included, along with a roster of Virginia hunts and current interstate health requirements.
The book also features the 1978 year end or high point award winners from the Virginia Horse Shows Association, the VHC, and all Virginia breed associations.
Informative articles include topics such as dressage, trail riding, side saddle, course design, preventative medicine, mare and stallion management, Virginia horse Extension programs, and Virginia’s new college of veterinary medicine.
The 1979 Virginia Horse Industry book will be available throughout the state at tack and feed stores at $4 per copy. It may also be purchased by mail at $4 plus $1 postage and handling.
Membership in the Virginia Horse Council also includes a copy of the book and a monthly copy of The Virginia Horse Council News. Regular memberships are $10, farm or family $20, commercial $50, and sponsor $100.
