Students from Piedmont Technical Education Center walked away with 36 awards at district competition for the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) held Saturday, March 3, at Piedmont.
Fourteen schools including nine technical centers vied for honors in leadership and skill events. VICA is a youth organization for students enrolled in trade and industrial education and health occupation classes. District winners from Piedmont will go to the state competition in Hampton, Virginia, and winners there will continue on to National competition in Atlanta, Georgia.
The following Rappahannock students received honors:
Sammy Foreback—third place in air conditioning and refrigeration, —Steve Mallory—second place in welding, — Linda Nicholson —second place in commercial sewing, —Carl Iordan—third place in flag.
