Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Alther, Sr. of Sperryville were honored with a surprise golden wedding anniversary celebration given by their children at their home on June 10.
They have five children, Mrs. Marie Brown, Mrs. Becky Menefee, Mrs. Annie Bell Jeffries, Jonas Alther Jr. and Billy Alther.
Softball Game
A social get-together and a bake sale will be held at the home of Charlie Lewis, Sperryville, on Saturday, July 7. There will also be a softball game between the Hopewell Pastors Aid Club and the Shiloh Pastors Aid Club, from Woodville.
Events will begin at 1:00 p.m., and everyone of all ages is invited. The afternoon will be sponsored by the Hopewell Pastors Aid Club.
