I would, at this time r.ke to publicly express my sincere apologies to several people (they, of course, know who they are). I partook in the spreading of several untrue rumors, and am truly sorry for any embarrassment they may have suffered. I have truly learned a valuable lesson. Again, my apologies.

Gas Crunch
(Continued from Page 1) receiving about 70 percent of its usual allotment of gas, Hackley’s Store in Amissville - also a Texaco outlet - has only 75 percent from its distributor, and H&J Texaco on Rt. 231 is currently receiving 80 percent of its normal amount.
Country Manor and Hackley’s Store are imposing S5 maximum purchase restrictions on their pumps, and H&J has a S3 requirement on its gas. Country Manor and H&J have found that traffic is much less heavy, particularly during the week, but Hackley’s has a lot of gas traffic and they were out of fuel last week, according to Graham Hackley.
Old Hollow Arco on Rt. 211 has also had its allotment cut, and for a while-about a month and a half ago- was receiving no gas at all. Mrs. Donald Keithley says that they have no minimum or maximum policy, but will probably have to have one soon. She also reports that the weekend trade was good.
There have been reports of out-of-state distributors offering to supply stations in this area with gas at 99 cents a gallon. However, none of the stations contacted by The Rappahannock News reported being approached.
