Bike-A-Thon Set
A Bike-A-Thon to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital will be held Saturday, May 17. Registration is scheduled for 12:30 in the parking lot of the Rappahannock Farmers Co-op. For further information, contact Bike-AThon chairman Mrs. Ruth Williams.
Band Students
Perform
On Saturday, April 26, three band students from Rappahannock County participated in District Nine’s Solo and Ensemble Festival.
Sperryville’s Jackie Wayland, clarinetist, performed “Bluebird Waltz.” Percussionist Craig Williams from Chester Gap played “Waltz Georgia.” Castleton’s Michelle Thompson, also a clarinetist, performed “II Primo Canto.”
According to band instructor Robin Dexter, the students, all sixth graders, have begun an excellent music career as evidenced by the high scores awarded their solos by the Festival judges.
