Virginia General Assembly bold school’s AVERAGE class size to 25. It’s against the law to cram 40 youngsters into a classroom so why even play around with that figure?
It’s an exercise in duplicity.
In addition, the section in the handbook mentions only regular classrooms. The shop class, home economics room, science lab with its oversized tables for experiments and resource classes for reading and learning disabilities aren’t regular classrooms and shouldn’t be counted as such. Common sense dictates that more space per pupil will be required in those classrooms due to the extra equipment that crowds the floor. But apparently, the committee was undeterred by common sense and figured those rooms as regular classes.
