Konick, a Washington attorney, noted that the county’s ordinance doesn’t allow campgrounds in a residential zone. To obtain a variance to this prohibition, he said, the applicant must show a clearly demonstrable hardship. ‘‘All the proponents spoke about the great work Rev. Savage is doing, about American youth being in trouble. No one said a hardship exists...They want a special privilege because they’re serving the Lord,” he maintained.
