Two juveniles from Culpeper were apprehended in Rappahannock Tuesday after stealing a vehicle in Culpeper and wrecking it in Sperryville. The '75 Ford pickup owned by George Norris of Culpeper was taken from Tutt’s Grocery on Route 522.
A radio message alerted Rappahannock officers, and Deputy Steve Crossman met the vehicle travelling towards Sperryville as he. Crossman. was heading south on Route 522.
The juveniles fled into Sperryville. straight through the village and then failed to negotiate the turn from Route 1001 onto Route 211 at the bridge, according to Crossman. The pickup struck a parked vehicle, a ’64 Ford station wagon owned by Oscar Sisk which was thrust into a 1980 Luv Chevrolet pickup belonging to James Lee Dwyer of Washington. The stolen vehicle came to rest in the highway, said the officer.
