To the editor: Thank you for bringing us Lyt Wood’s Three Days At Doily Sods. Mr. Wood’s imagery and style of writing are quire poetic, and I felt I was there, seeing and ex, periencing the same sensations as the hikers.
Such articles are especially welcome after one has “had | it” with all the personal snipI ing and back-biting in the ' local political environment. Of course, the news must be 1 reported, however negative, and citizen response is a I healthy sign that we aren't all asleep or indifferent.
But we do need an escape now and again, and how good it was, in the midst of such rugged, threatening terrain to discover the beauty of Dolly Sods.
Maybe we would profit by taking a more observing look at our own mountains, and valleys...cliffs and marshes...with a mind to preserve and protect, aiid to put the petty, little human squabbling into broader perspective.
Please bring us more of •that kind of writing.
