Performance
Jennifer Raney, a senior at Rappahannock County High School, has received letters of commendation from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for her outstanding performance in the National Merit Scholarship program.
According to high school principal Dennis Wingfield. Jennifer showed exceptional academic promise by scoring among the top five percent of the Merit participants. More than a million students entered the program. She is the daughter of C. J. Raney of Flint Hill.

Group Meeting
The fall meeting of the Sue Slaughter Group of the Shiloh Association Woman’s Missionary Union will be held Thursday. October 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville.
Members of the Mt. Lebanon. Woodville. Chester Gap. Washington and Amissville Baptist Churches and the host church are urged to attend. Friends are also cordially invited. The speaker will be Miss June Mason, missionary to Tanzania in East Africa.
