in the play for every adult, “Peter Pan” is a timeless classic especially entertaining for children, and superb group of young people have been cast in the youthful roles. Nancy Proctor, who plays Wendy, is joined by Brad Fisher as brainy brother Michael and the vocally talented Willis Arias as John. Chad Bear, Tara Fisher, Jonah and Noah Waggoner, and Cory Dermitt shine as the Lost Bovs, whose wonderful singing and dancing may just steal the show.
Although a central theme of Barrie’s famous play is that of delayed adolesence and the pain and paradox of growing into adulthood, this universal message is softened by episodes of high comedy. The hilarious dance numbers by the fierce pirate band, the fiendish plotting and droll soliloquies by Hook, Micheline Hostetter’s brilliant special effects, set design by O'Connor and Stuart Eiland, and Barbara Sherman’s consumate piano accompaniment, all combine to make “Peter Pan" a dramatic and musical treat not to be missed.
