After voting to pay the monthly bills, the council adjourned. Present were Miller, Jenkins, Taylor Updike, C. E. Giles, Dorothy Hawkins and Dorothy Clater. Council member Brad Fisher was absent.

County delegates to the Republican convention scheduled for Virginia Beach in June were selected at the party’s local mass meeting held at the court house Friday.
Chosen as uncommitted delegates who will go to the convention with no instructions were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Carney, John Marocchi, Paul Frantz, Chris Parrish, George Sharp, Claes Tholand, Sheila Geoghegan and David Konick.
Republican candidates for Virginia governor. It. governor and attorney general will be selected at the nominating convention. Rappahannock’s nine member contingent will cast four delegate votes.
