Miller said that he. also wanted to make sure that ,high quality pipe was used for the hook-up. “That’s been such a problem for us,” he said. The cast-iron pipe that’s been in the ground for thirty years is fine. It’s the newer, cheaper pipe that’s given us so much trouble with leaks.”
Miller concluded the discussion of the new well by saying that a surveyor would come April 22 to pinpoint the exact location as noted on the geologist’s chart.
“Well, we need to do something soon,” Charlie Jenkins said. “I’m pumping water every day now again.”
Council discussed a couple of possible leaks that had been reported and Jenkins' agreed to check them out. They also agreed that if a town resident wants the water meter on his property moved, the resident, not the town, should bear the expense. fl". . ■.
