Apple Pie
Contest
Allison Best, a second-year home ec student at Rappahannock County High School, placed first in the school’s apple pie baking contest held Monday. She will represent Rappahannock in Winchester May 1 in the pie baking competition held in conjunction with the annual Apple Blossom Festival there. She is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Lowe of Chester-Gap.
Placing second in the local contest was Sandy Wines of Chester Gap and in third place was Melissa Dennis of Castleton.
The lucky pie judges were John Toth, SaHy Brand, Bill Shirkey, Susie Coffey and Bill Scott. John Toth said they were great pies and he wished he could have that job every day around lunch time.
