Reenactment
The 14th annual reenactment of the Battle ot New Market will take place Sunday, May 10, at 2 p.m., the New Market Battlefield Park has announced.
More than 700 authentically uniformed men from 15 or more states will participate in the mock struggle, a spokesman said.
The event memorializes the heroic charge of 247 Virginia Military Institute cadets in the 1864 Civil War battle. It is one of the few reenactments held on an original battleground and it annually attracts some 10,000 spectators.
