Twelve members of the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church youth group put their (Christianity to work last month by travelling all the way to Maine to conduct Backyard Bible Clubs in the state capital of Augusta.
The young people were accompanied on the trip by their pastor, Rev. William Lancaster, youth advisor Howard Holschuh, Lloyd and Betty Sims, and Bob ana Diane HefTern.
Planning for the trip began more than a year ago when the Church applied to the Southern Baptist Convention's Home Mission Board for just such a volunteer assignment. Slowly, but surely, the project took shape and final arrangements were worked out by the Maine mission director, Mrs. Dolores Thomas, of the Thomas Memorial Baptist Church in Lewiston, Maine.
