I found William doing very well, and stayed with him three days, and left for I home. I then went to work in I better spirits than 1 had for 1 two years, having seen my brother and found him doing well, and had gotten someone to stay with mother.
At the end of that year, I rented a place from Col. Popham near Slate Mills. I hired myself to him for the coming year, and 1 soon found that I had a splendid home: I lived in pleasure that year. I paid William a visit in July, and found him well.
Col. Popham dying during the fall threw me out of a home for the coming year. During that winter mother got so she could not walk a step, and at one time was so low I did not think she could live a week.
