At the end of that year, I rented a place from Col. Popham near Slate Mills. I hired myself to him for the coming year, and 1 soon found that I had a splendid home: I lived in pleasure that year. I paid William a visit in July, and found him well.

Col. Popham dying during the fall threw me out of a home for the coming year.
