13. Pickle Zucchini: Follow the same recipe as for cucumber pickle, using small, tender zucchini.
14. Feed them to the hogs. Hogs fed on squash have tender sweet meat. Let them grow larger than usual, store them in an airy, dry place, and give your hogs 2 or 3 a day as a special treat.
15. Cook Squash with tomato and sliced onion. Saute onion first in margarine, add squash and tomato and cook until done.
16. Cook several kinds together for flavor and color. Saute yellow squash with tender zucchini chunks in butter. Add salt, pepper and basil.
17. Patty pan squashes (the small green round ones with the scalloped rims) may be stuffed and baked. Scoop out the upper part, grate and mix with butter or margarine, bread crumbs and minced onion.Stuff the squash with this mixture and bake for half an hour.
18. Steam tiny (2-inch) patty pans whole and toss with butter and herbs.
19. Cook zucchini with potatoes, celery, green onions, and basil. Saute the chopped onions in oil first, add basil and chopped celery. Then add tomato sauce, zucchini chunks and potatoes cut in half-inch pieces. Stir gently to coat with oil, then cover and steam until tender. After sauteing squash with onion until tender, add yogurt and dill weed. Heat over very low heat until just warmed through.
