For outstanding achievement by a rescue squad volunteer, Sheila Scott, Amissville Fire & Rescue, received a certificate. She took charge after a bus accident with 20-30 school children until police and school officials arrived on the scene.
Steve Grayson, Captain of the Madison Volunteer Rescue Squad, received a certificate for his successful fund-raising projects and his work to supply Advanced Life Support (cardiac) to over 10,000 more people in 1982. He also encouraged eight more squad members to become cardiac technicians to serve with Madison's new Advanced Life Support ambulance.
