While most people settled down to a sumptuous turkey dinner Thursday afternoon. Prince William County Police dispatcher John Collier was alerted to a nude male driving along Woodbridge Airport runways, impeding air traffic.
With that 1:18 p.m. call, more than 15 law enforcement officers from Prince William, Fauquier, Clarke, and Warren counties became involved in a twohour. three-minute chase over one Interstate, two cow pastures, several secondary roads, and an assortment of private driveways.
Finally, near mile post six on Interstate-66 near Front Royal, Woodbridge resident Charles T. Liles was arrested after Virginia State Police Trooper W. EL Walther and Warren County Sheriffs Deputy Ronald EJawkins forced Liles' 1980 four-wheel drive Ford Bronco off the road, pinning it against a guardrail.
When the dust settled, two officers had been injured, four cruisers had been totalled, one. private vehicle had been hit, and five police vehicles had received approximately $9,500-worth of damage.
