The Board of Trustees for the Rappahannock Association for Arts and the Community (RAAC) met Sunday evening to hear committee reports and check overall progress toward established goals.
RAAC was formed in July to foster the development of the social, civic and cultural resources of the region. Five months later, the young group has an impressive list of accomplishments to its credit.
RAAC has sponsored a Fourth-of-July art show, two successful street dances, a blue-grass concert with the Free State Ramblers, helped the Rappahannock Players with their production of Next Year, Jerusalem, and leased the Gay Street theatre with renovations presently underway.
RAAC's future plans are even more ambitious. Encouraged by community response to their first efforts, the group will host a Christmas program, a New Year’s fund-raising party, and a spring production of an original drama by the Roadside Theatre.
