$1.5 Million Withdrawn WSA secretary Bob Dennis added that a letter from the SWCB was enroute, announcing plans to withdraw Sperryville's $1.5 million construction grant at the hoard's December 7 meeting in Richmond. The funds will be re-allocated to other projects since the county didn’t get the money it needed from the block grant program, he said.
According to Dennis’ information, representaives from the Department of Housing and Community Development assured the Water Control Board staffers last week that Sperryville’s sewer will be funded in the next block grant cycle which begins in March. “But that was what was implied this go round,” Dennis noted.
Although the $1.5 million for construction in fiscal year 1983 will be taken back, he added, “the Water Control Board will slot us for fiscal '84 funds because they think we’ll get a block grant (in the next cycle).” Dennis nointed
