Miss Gladys Mae Payne, age 68, of Washington, died Saturday, February 12, 1983, at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
Miss Payne was a lifelong resident of Rappahannock County and was the daughter of the late George and Annie Fincham Payne. She was a member of Washington Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Annie Jenkins of Front Royal and Mrs. Aileen V. Jenkins of Orange; six brothers, Luther Payne of Washington, Jack Payne of Gordonsville, James E. Payne of Strasburg, Warren W. Payne of Richmond, Fred B. Payne of Culpeper and Russell Lee Payne of Woodville.
Funeral services were conducted at Washington Baptist Church on Tuesday by the Rev. Steve Scoggin. Burial will be in Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of arrangements.
