Guest and Rappahannock Sheriff W. A. Buntin convinced the House Committee to include the money in the budget in a meeting with the House Appropriations’ Public Safety Subcommittee late last month. The House bill also includes money for three other jail projects: in Gloucester County, the city of Lynchburg and for a joint facility for Madison and Culpeper counties. The Senate bill only calls for money for Gloucester County’s jail.
