Mae Jenkins

Mrs. Mae Ethel Jenkins, 88, 01 Berryville, formerly of Sperryville, died on Thursday, May 30 at Winchester Memorial Hospital.
A native of Sperryville, Rappahannock County, she was the daughter uf the late Thad and Ella Burke Leake. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Thornton Gap Regular Baptist Church near Sperryville. She was the widow of Gideon Wallace Jenkins.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Louise Haussmann of Springfield, Mrs. Polly Payne of Langley Park, Md. and Mrs. Amanda Trickett of Maurertown; four sons, Lewis Jenkins of Orange, Yates Jenkins of Herndon, Woodrow W. Jenkins of Sterling and Preston Jenkins of Waterford; 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday at Thornton Gap Regular Baptist Church by the Rev. Kirby Shenk. Burial was in the Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roland Jenkins, Richard Trickett, Tommy Jenkins, Wayne Jenkins, Bobby Jenkins, Michael Jenkins and Leroy Jenkins.
Marvin Jenkins, David Payne and the deacons of the church were honorary pallbearers.
Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper handled the arrangements.
