The counsellors also work with the participants to help them set goals, and to help them understand what is expected at the worksite. “Most of the youths have usually had no prior work experience, so part of their training deals with goal setting, how to interview for a job, understanding the application procedure and getting along with co-workers apd supervisors,” said Norma Gibbs, 70(K>i regional manager. Participants receive three days of training before they are sent to a site.
The responsibilities of the worksite include providing the youths meaningful work and supervising the youths.
