Our benefit dinner at the fire hall last Friday evening was a financial success with the most delicious food yet. “The dinners brought in roughly $1,025 and the tickets around $2,000”, says Peggy Woodward, Woman-in-Charge.
Plenty of hard work went into the preparation and serving and lots of nice people helped with the chores. Lovely ladies like Mrs. Helen Fridenstine and Mrs. Marguerite Nikolajevic were busy around the hall all evening.
The first place prize went to Mr. Carpenter of Madison, second place to Chief Grigsby of our fire department and third place to Ms. Betty Munro of Castleton.
To all those citizens who could not roak® —The food was out of this world!!!!!!-Can’t stop thinking about all those luscious, delectable morsels!!
The Rappahannock County High School sports awards banquet was held last week at the Amissville fire hall and the “dinner head-honcho” was the one and only, Mrs. Peggy Woodward. It was the first year that the parents prepared the food, usually it’s held in a restaurant such as Panorama. There were approximatley 250 people, mostly parents, relatives, students, coaches (teachers), Mr. Chappell, the Principal and Mr. Toth, Vice Principal. It was a fine affair with enough food to please all.
A huge congratulations goes out to Castleton’s 16 year old Richard Tribino, who was presented that evening
