The Piedmont Private Industry Council awarded 70001 Ltd. the contract for over $247,000 to administer the Summer Youth Employment Program in Planning District 9-Rappahannock, Madison, Orange, Culpeper and Fauquier counties.
The program will serve a minimum of 106 economically disadvantaged youths between the ages of 14 and 21. Priority will be given to inschool youths between 16 and 19, but out-of-school youths are encouraged to apply. Youths may work 30-40 hours per week at $3.35 per hour during the enrollment period.
Worksites for the five county program will include public and private non-profit organizations such as area public schools, public libraries, town and county offices and other non-profit facilities. Counsellors visit participants at the worksites to monitor their progress in performing duties on the job, to make sure they are supervised at all
