packed, fun-filled evening in which you can be the star. Auditions will be Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. in the Gay St. Theater. The Showcase will be Saturday, June 29 at 8 p.m. in the Theater.
Beginning with the All-StarChicken Revue at the Hillsdale DriveIn in the mid-seventies, the Rappahannock Talent Show has been held in different locations (Carrigan’s School House, the public elementary school, the Community Center in Washington, the Gay St. Theater) and to benefit various organizations (Sursum Corda, Mountain Magic Cinema, RAAC) over the years. Each time the audience has been treated to a high quality and funny variety show. The question has been asked, “Why does so much performing talent uwell in this rural area of Virginia?” It is part of the magic and mystery of the foothills of the Blue Ridge. It is also the legacy of what happens when a community encourages and supports creative talent.
