I did make one very pointed accusation of Mr. Lane that day which I will repeat here. I said that he had helped create the feudal society wherein the major landowners here run the countv and run over many of its citizens. Hi's only reply was “That’s not feudalism, girl, that’s socialism.” Clearly, Mr. Lane did not graduate from Rappahannock High School!

fits with those of surrounding school systems. To date, seven of our teachers at RCHS have resigned. At least seven more will stay only as a last alternative. They’ll stay to feed their families but only until they find another job. We stand to lose over onethird of the teaching staff at RCHS. Quality education can’t exist without quality teaching. And 99 times out of 100, quality teachers are experienced teachers.
I ask you to call your supervisors and tell them you support restoring that $120,000 to the school budget for next year. Petitions in support of that are being circulated. Sign them.
