Jenkins Reunion

Held Sunday

Approximately 75 relatives and friends gathered at the Rappahannock Park on Route 211 near Washington on Sunday, July 21, for the third annual reunion of the families of the late Aubrey and Ellen Baker Jenkins.

Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins were the parents of six sons and four daughters. The sons are Wayne Jenkins, Abbie Jenkins and Troy Jenkins, all of Sperryville, and David Jenkins of Carlisle, Pa. Two sons, Nt’son and Jimmie, are deceased.

The daughters are Edna Burke of Washington, Kathleen Lee of Flint Hill, Ivy Racer, also of Washington, and Linda Dwyer of Sperryville.

The oldest relative attending was Mrs. Tina Frazier of Amissville.

The youngest was Eric Grove of Front Royal, great-grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins.

Mr. and Mrs. David Jenkins of Carlisle, Pa., travelled the longest distance for the gathering.

Good food, fun and reminiscing were enjoyed by all.

Next year’s reunion will be held at the Park on July 20.

Deals Have Son

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Robert Deal, Jr. of Culpeper proudly announce the birth of a son, Robert Eugene bom July 10 at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. He weighed six pounds and six ounces.

The infant is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Jenkins of Culpeper, Mrs. Mabel J. Deal of Sperry ville and the late Hugh R. Deal.
