Taste The Virginia Food Festival
The Virginia Agribusiness Council cordially invites you to the fourth annual Virginia Food Festival August 7 at the state fairgrounds in Richmond.
So many of the state’s festivals highlight just one particular food, but the Virginia Food Festival brings all our agricultural food products together for a complete smorgasbord.
Taste award winning Virginia wines and discover how well they blend with foods native to the Commonwealth. The $15 admission allows you to taste as many foods and beverages as you like.
The menu board will include tasteful treats like extra thick pork chops and tender chicken quarters grilled over charcoal. Beef and lamb barbecue will be featured and each one is so good you’ll have to try them both.
Steamed clams and crabs from the Chesapeake Bay, fresh com on the cob rolled in real creamery butter, egg-laden hors d’oeuvres, cool ice cream topped with peanuts, applesauce and apple juice and ground veal meatballs are just a few of the many wonderful foods there for the tasting.
In order to get in on all the fun and food at the Virginia Food Festival, you must purchase your tickets in advance. Send check or money order payable to the Virginia Agribusiness Council for $15 for each ticket. Here’s the recipe for the barbecue sauce that will be brushed on broilers cooked over smoking charcoal. It gives wonderful flavor to chicken and is also good for grilled pork chops.
