Dick has met as many of the old recording artists as possible- artists like . George Jessel, Mother Mabel Carter and the other members of the Carter family. He also has a four-hour radio show every Sunday on WKCW in Warrenton when he plays selections from his classic country collection.
Dick said that today’s country music has also gone the route of commercialization. “In Australia, country, or folk, artists are taking poetry and setting it to music,” Dick said. “I wish that our singers would start doing that.”
