The annual farm show, featuring a host of Rappahannock entries, began today and will run through Monday, July 29. The show is located four miles south of Culpeper on Route 2b

Joyce Starks, 17, of Washington has entered two hogs in the sw i'ne competition. She is by no means a novice m that category. This is the seventh straight year Starks has entered hogs in the competition. She has twice placed second, in 1979 and 19S4

Starks, who began raising the hogs in late April, will shovi (hem Thursday at 7 p.m. She is not as confident about doing well this year as she has been in previous years. She says her hogs are not in tiptop shape.

Timmy Falls, 16, of Woodville has entered one steer and ! > ' ' 1 competition. This is the nrst y, nr Kalis has entered a steer, but he isn't lacking experience; this is the fifth year he has entered hogs. In 19S2 he placed first and in other years has twice placed second.

When asked about his chances of winning this year, Falls said "you never know until you get there." He will show his steer on Friday at 7:20 p.m.

Elizabeth Oliver. 12, of Woodville has entered six events, which include arranging flowers, sewing a pillow, a skirt and a blouse, and making string art. Last year she got first place for sewing an apron and a book case. (diver will submit her entries on Friday and pick them up on Sunday, hopefully with ribbons attached.

Other entries from Rappahannock and the categories in which they’re participating are: George Kidwell, Jr., potatoes, okra, green beans, and action photography; Martha Kidwell, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, grape jelly, blackberry jelly, quilting, sweet peppers, Irish potatoes, and green beans.
