Luther Payne

Luther Payr 75, of Washington, died Monday, July at his residence.
Graveside services were conducted on Wednesday at Washington Masonic Cemetery by the Rev. Steve Scoggin.
Mr. Payne was bom November 13,1909, in Rappahannock County, son of the late George William and Annie Fincham Payne.
Surviving are his wife, Rosa L. Payne; four sons, Charles E. Payne of Falls Church, W. L. Payne of Amissville, Franklin Payne of Culpeper and Walter Reid Payne of Flint Hill; three daughters, Mabel Settle of Flint Hill, Dorothy Clater of Washington and Linda Jenkins of Culpeper; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, Warren Payne of Richmond, Lee Payne of Woodville, James A. Payne of Strasburg and Jack Payne of Gordonsville, and two sisters, Aileen Jenkins of Orange and Annie Jenkins of Front Royal.
Tumer-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal was in charge of the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to a local rescue squad.
