Driver indicted
for manslaughter
A Manassas woman was indicted Monday in Fauquier County Circuit Court for involuntary manslaughter because her passenger died after she lost control of her car and wrecked June 23 on Route 29.
The grand jury also indicted Carolyn Bear Moore, 29, of 9023 Centreville Road, on one count of driving under the influence.
Larry Eugene Roadcap, 35, of Manassas, died from the accident a halfmile south of Warrenton.
Moore was one of 12 people indicted on 23 felony charges Monday in Fauquier Circuit Court.
County to study
sewer demands
The Fauquier Water and Sanitation Authority last week announced it will begin studying ways in which it can expand and upgrade the county’s sewer capacity.
WSA board member Nathan Hale (Center District) suggested Fauquier’s recent building boom will require the county to rely less on drainfields and more on a sewer system to dispose of waste.
Mr. Hale said it is unknown how much longer the drainfields will be able to absorb and distill sewage. If left unattended, the fields would reach capacity and could create severe water pollution problems, he said.
The options include builing a new sewage treatment plant to serve the New Baltimore area or pumping sewage to the Remington treatment plant.
Economics will determine the coures of action, he said, adding that it would be two or three months before any specific recommendations on the matter would be made.
