Mr. and Mrs. William Fincham visited Mrs. Eva Woodard in Culpeper Sunday afternoon.
Oliver Durant was able to attend the Northern Virginia Fox Hunters Association Bench Show at Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises on Wednesday evening. He also attended two days of the field trials when hounds were cast at 5 a.m.
Mrs. Robert Fincham of Culpeper spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fincham and Peggy. On Saturday, all of the Finchams, accompanied by Mrs. Glenn Cave and Tonya, visited Mrs. Dolly Lamb of Reva, who remains ill.
Mrs. Mary Jenkins spent several days last week with Mrs. Nina Sisk in Culpeper.
The annual Brew and Atha Burke reunion will be held Sept. 22 at the Rappahannock Recreation Center near Washington. Lunch will be served around 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to come and bring a covered dish. The Burkes are former residents of Boston and some of the family still reside here.
Mrs. Calvin McCloud and Mrs. Marie Morrison attended the Rapidan Musical Festival during the Labor Day holiday.
Continuing with news of the ordination of Rev. John Warren, who is pastor of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, we would like to report that his father Rev. Bill Warren, of Idaho Falls, was here and preached the ordination sermon. Others who participated in the services were Chaplain Carl Bilderback of Hampton, Rev. Chris Brammer of Fincastle, and Chaplain Jim Harwood of Oakton. Rev. Bud King of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Warren’s father, served as photographer. Other guests were Dr. and Mrs. Homsi Homsi of Saudi Arabia and Mrs. Bill Warren.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Duncan of Shenandoah were guests Sunday of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Duncan, and with them attended the 50th wedding anniversary party for Mr. and Mrs. George Hawkins of Sperryville, given by their son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Phil Hawkins on Rt. 707. Others from our area attending were Mrs. Ertha Hawkins and son Joe.
