One of the things about growing older that still amazes me is the resistance one develops to battle life’s little setbacks.
Now that I’m 28 years old, for instance, that periodic pimple which surfaces affects me so little that it’s hard to remember how a surprise zit, plunk dab in the middle of the forehead, could ruin your whole teenage day.
And now that I’m waging a battle to maintain some remnants of a waistline, skinny jokes no longer bother me the way they did when I slithered through my formative years.
