Antique and craft festival An antique and craft festival sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be held Saturday, October 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Amissville fire hall. Food will be served.

Women’s exercise class at CCLC A women’s exercise class will start October 15 at the Child Care and Learning Center and run through November 19. The classes will be held on Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. The instructor will be Laura Crowne. To register or for more information call the Center at 6753237.

Izaak Walton League meeting The Izaak Walton League will meet Monday, October 13, at 8 p.m. at the Rappahannock Medical Center in Washington. Interested persons are urged to attend.

Ruritans to meet The Amissville Ruritan Club will meet Wednesday, October 15, at 7:30 p.m. at the Amissville Baptist Church. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.

Humane Society auction The Rappahannock Humane Society is still seeking donations for their fall auction on October 18 at Points of View Farm. Anyone wishing to donate may call Ann Sakalaucks at 987-8140.

Choir day celebration The Gospel Chorus of the Mt. Morris Baptist Church will celebrate their sixth annual Choir Day Sunday, October 19, at 3 p.m. In honor of the occasion the United Gospel Singers with the Rev. William Corum will be guests. Refreshments will be served after the program. All are welcome.

Planning Commission meets The Planning Commission for the town of Washington will hold a public meeting Thursday, October 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the courthouse to discuss a proposed parking ordinance, sign ordinance, and subdivision ordinance. Please plan to attend if you have an opinion as to whether they are needed and if so how they should be worded.

Forest Grove Centennial Forest Grove Baptist Church in Viewtown will celebrate its centennial this Sunday, October 12. The celebration will begin with the 11 a.m. worship service, followed by a fellowship meal. At 3 p.m. there will be a special service to commemorate the centennial. All friends and former members are invited to share in this special occasion.
