Also connected to the sitting area is a formal dining room and off to the rear a sun porch with views up Old Hollow. Besides the recreation room on the lower floor there are a sewing room, workshop and a Finnish sauna.
In addition to the many original art works from the U.S. and abroad there are displayed many mementos of the Siiras’ 14 years with the State Department where Eino Siira was an agricultural advisor. The Siiras’ last station was Panama but the majority of those 14 years was spent in East Africa, primarily Ethiopia. Among a variety of horns of African game animals are photographs, shields and native wood carvings. On the front of the fireplace on the main floor are three Coptic crosses in brass from Ethiopia.
Tea will be served here both afternoons of the tour.
