The Rappahannock County School District participates in the National School Lunch Program, which since 1946 has made it possible for schools throughout the nation to serve wholesome and nutritious low-cost lunches to students every school day. These lunches make an important contribution to good nutrition, which is vital to children’s mental and physical growth.
National School Lunch Week, October 12-18, is a time dedicated to increasing the community awareness and understanding of the National School Lunch Program. The Honorable Gerald L. Baliles has officially recognized this week as Virginia School Lunch Week.
‘College Day’
Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown will hold its annual College Day Program Wednesday, October 15 from 11:451:00 p.m. All current or former students of the college are invited to meet with the representatives of more than 40 colleges and universities. Bridgewater College, Eastern Mennonite College, James Madison University, Old Dominion University, University of Virginia, William & Mary College and Virginia Polytechnic and State University will be among the colleges and universities represented.
