I am pleased to extend warm greetings and congratulations to everyone celebrating the 1986 National 4-H Week.
A century and a half ago, a Frenchman named Alexis de Tocqueville came to America looking for the secret of our greatness. What he found was a spirit that still flourishes today. The secret was, and is, in our people’s enthusiasm for learning, sharing, volunteering, caring, and helping their neighbors.
Apply that spirit to education for youth in agriculture, family living, and community development and you have the essence
