Literacy volunteers to meet
Rappahannock Literacy Volunteers will meet again Friday, March 4, at 9:30 a.m. in the Episcopal Parish House. Anyone wondering about getting help in reading which is such an important skill is cordially invited to come or get a friend to attend and learn more about how the volunteers are anxious to help. Pancake supper
A pancake supper will be served at Salem Ruritan Club on March 12 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The menu includes pancakes, syrup, sausage, applesauce and drinks, and will cost $4 for adults, $2 for children under 12. The club house is on Rt. 522 at Griffinsburg.
‘Moral Survival: Fiction of the ’50s’
film-lecture series continues
The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit will be shown at the Gay Street Theater at 7:30 Monday, March 7. This film follows a lecturediscussion of the book last week at the Library and precedes another lecture-discussion on Monday, March 14, by Dr. Peter Wirth on John O’Hara’s “Ten North Frederick.” The program, which is free to the public, is sponsored by the Friends of the Rappahannock Library and partially funded by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and Public Policy. Heart Association board meeting
The board of the Rappahannock Unit of the American Heart Association will meet Wednesday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of the president Dr. Gil Webb and Mrs. Webb in Amissville. Dr. Webb urges all members to be present. Their telephone number is 937-5689.
4-H Adventure team to meet
