Seventy-one students in the
University of Virginia School of Nursing have been placed on the dean’s list for the first semester. The honor for academic distinction goes to 46 seniors who will be candidates for a bachelor of science degree in nursing in June and to 25 juniors. Among the juniors on the dean’s list is Miss Dana Kay Snead of Washington, daughter of Judge and Mrs. R. V. Snead.
David Sisk of Sperryville is an example of what can be accomplished through the dollars which are contributed each year to various funds. David underwent heart surgery when he wras four years old. He had a plastic valve inserted in his heart. The operation was performed at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, and was arranged and financed by the Crippled Children’s Bureau. Years of medical research have made, many things possible. David, now 11, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sisk.

Panther Harry Jordan was named to the All-District basketball team at the close of tournament play for Skyline District. Jordan is a junior and in three years has totaled 876 points, averaging 19.5 this year. He is 6-4 and controls the backboards with his tremendous jumping ability.
