For Republicans, the vote on March b is only a preference poll.
The selection of the state’s 50 delegates to the Republican National Convention will begin in a series of local caucuses, to be held before May 14. The representatives chosen in each local caucus will attend one of 10 district caucuses between May 14 and June 12.
The district meetings represent one for each of the state's 10 congressional districts. Each district convention will select three delegates to represent it at the national convention. They will also attend the state convention as committed delegates.
p The remaining 20 Virginia delegates to the national nominating convention will be chosen at the state convention.
