Annual election of officers for Little League was held Monday night, Feb. 22, in Washington. Newly-elected officers are Ronald Dodson, president of the Rappahannock-Amissville Little League, Julian Brown, commissioner of Rappahannock, Billy Dodson, commissioner of Amissville, Carol Foster, treasurer, and Linda Welch, secretary.
Berry Wright, permitting official with the state’s Department of Waste Management, will meet with the Jackson District Citizens Committee on Friday, March 11, at 1 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Court House in Washington. Lorraine Early, chairman of the committee, urges all citizens to participate. This is the last chance for citizens to express their opinions on whether a permit should be issued to operate a sanitary landfill on the Stover Tract at Amissville. Amissville TOPS Chapter will have a tasting party of low-calorie foods on Tuesday, March 8, at 11 a.m. following the weekly meeting at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church.
