This year, for the first time, a cash prize of $100 is being offered to anyone who breaks the course record, now 31:26 for men and 36:46 for women.
The race committee, sponsored by the Rappahannock Recreation Authority and the Child Care and Learning Center, is now accepting pre-registrations for the event. Pre-registration, postmarked by April 11, is $8. Post-registration the day of the race is $10, between 8 and 9:30 a.m., adjacent to the starting line in Flint Hill.
